Welcome to Artists Anonymous Productions!

The four of us (Juan, Dianna, Derek, and Jeff) have been friends for quite some time, having participated both individually and collectively in numerous local theatre productions over the years. In 2018, we began discussing our desire to create a platform which would allow us to produce our own theatre. Our hope with this venture is to produce additional projects within our community that each of us feels especially passionate about, as well as allow us the mobility to match a venue with the specific vision for each show. And after discussing it, and discussing it, and discussing it some more, we have finally decided that it is time to try and actually make our dream a reality. Our desire is to continue supporting our local community theaters while adding opportunities for artists to express and entertain, and for audiences to experience and enjoy quality theatre.

More About the Team:

Juan Luis Torres started performing at the age of sixteen at Chino Community Children’s Theatre in a production of The Music Man as Mayor Shinn. After performing throughout high school, he was cast as a parade performer at the Disneyland Resort. Soon after, a dream came true when he was cast to portray Disney face characters for over two years at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan. After returning home, Juan helped launch the opening of Downtown Disney as an in-house dancer at the Latin themed restaurant Y ARRIBA Y ARRIBA. Later he sailed away on board Royal Caribbean cruise line as a featured singer/dancer. Juan has been flying the friendly skies as a Los Angeles based flight attendant since 2006; however, he has enjoyed being able to return to his love of theatre as a director and choreographer of several musical productions at Chino Community Theatre alongside his husband, Derek, and friends, Jeff and Dianna. All four now work as flight attendants for the same company, and were inspired to launch this creative venture together. Juan most recently appeared on stage as the monster in Young Frankenstein.

Dianna Hollowell fell in love with the world of musical theater at a young age. She grew up watching the film versions of The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King and I, and other beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals. As a child, she performed in various children’s and community theater productions in the Inland Empire. Dianna received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Biola University where she trained classically and performed in operas such as Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Bizet’s Carmen, and Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor. She then went on to earn her Master of Music in Musical Theater from Oklahoma City University where she had the privilege of studying under the direction of Florence Birdwell, former voice teacher of Kelli O’Hara and Kristin Chenoweth. Dianna spent many years teaching voice and piano lessons before transitioning into a career as a flight attendant. She continues to enjoy music directing for both children and adult theaters in the Inland Empire, as well as performing onstage. Favorite roles she’s had the pleasure of performing include Meg in Little Women, Judy Bernly in 9 to 5 The Musical, Nellie in South Pacific, Laurie in Oklahoma!, and, most recently, Inga in Young Frankenstein.

Derek Ashley Macumber grew up in the Ozarks performing at the historic Lander’s theatre in his hometown of Springfield, Missouri. He performed, choreographed, and taught classes in acting and improvisation for Springfield little theatre’s young education series troupes and summer theatre camps. He received his bachelor of arts in musical theatre performance at the University of Tulsa Oklahoma, with minors in arts management and dance. Derek has worked professionally for the Show Boat Branson Belle, Silver Dollar City and toured in rep with Light Opera Oklahoma. He was featured on screen in CSI: NY, Passions and Nip/Tuck. Favorite roles onstage include Henry in Next to Normal, Mr. Brooks in Little Women, Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Harry Whitherspoon in Lucky Stiff, Fredie/Philip in Noises Off and Paul in Kiss me Kate. Derek has also had the pleasure of working alongside his husband, Juan Luis Torres, at Chino Community Theatre, where the couple have choreographed and directed several projects together.

Jeff Deards Jr grew up in the So Cal community theatre scene. He earned his BFA in Musical Theatre at Cal State Fullerton and spent the next several years performing professionally on both coasts. Along with his on stage theatrical work, Jeff has had the opportunity to appear as a featured vocalist for the Florida Orchestra’s Holiday Pops concert. He has also performed in Europe and recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.  In addition to performing, Jeff has spent the last several years teaching youth theatre and directing locally. It’s been a dream of his for many years to produce his own theatre and he couldn’t be more pleased to be doing it with three of his finest friends.
